Borg Warner EFR turbos. I was looking at their smaller turbine units, I believe they were called EFR-6255. If I recall these units could be mounted on a greater angle than conventional turbos. If that is true perhaps an adapter plate (slightly wedge shaped) mounted between the turbo and exhaust manifold to provide a little more leway when designing the down pipes. I would definately utilize their integrated recirc valve and boost control solenoid.
I believe a setup like that would be a good compromise.
